Do the tight fit dimensions you show for the tools include the length of the drill or screwdriver bit that would be attached?
Yes. It is important that the tools be able to fit in the very tight spaces. So, the length of the tool being used needs to be included in the overall dimensions.
Are other threaded drill sizes available?
Yes. In addition to the sizes shown, a full range of diameters and lengths are available in addition to other tools and can be quoted upon request.
Are the gears in the attachment made of plastic or metal?
The gears are machined from alloy steel and heat treated for long life.
Do the gears need to be lubricated?
Yes. The gears in the “enclosed” attachment are shipped lubricated. And the bearings are self-lubricating, as well.
Is the grip on the attachment metal or plastic?
The high strength nylon housing is sleeved with a knurled non-rusting metal grip designed to lessen the chance of the attachment slipping when in use
Why is there a wrench included with the threaded kits?
The threaded connection on both the attachments and the extensions will sometimes self-tighten when used. The wrench allows the tools to be loosened easily.
What is meant by the advertisement that the drills are aircraft quality?
The company has made drills used in the manufacture of commercial and military aircraft since the 1970’s. Aircraft companies require the drills to be made to the high National Aerospace Standards (NAS). The included drills meet the NAS geometry, materials, and tolerance specifications.
The threaded tool kits are packaged in re-useable storage containers. What about the Hex kits?
The Hex kit packaging is re-usable. The back slides open and shut for convenient tool storage in a toolbox, drawer or to be hung on a pegboard.
